Three-time PGA Tour champion Carl Pettersson refines his game and logs numerous practice rounds every year at Hasentree – his home course.
Pettersson, one of just a handful of PGA Tour players to win $2 million in each of the last three seasons, carried the Hasentree logo on his bag during 2007. He also hosted his charity tournament, The Children’s Flight of Hope, at Hasentree in April 2008, along with Ryder Cup member Ben Curtis and FedEx Cup finalist Tim Clark. The trio held a clinic, exchanged golf stories in a Q and A session, and played several holes with participants, helping raise close to $150,000.
Pettersson, a former North Carolina State star, also hosts a children’s clinic each fall for Hasentree members – kids who enjoy getting tips from one of golf’s best players.
Pettersson’s three PGA Tour wins include the 2008 Wyndham Championship, 2006 Memorial Tournament, and 2005 Chrysler Championship, and his career earnings have topped $10 million. “Hasentree is a great place for me to practice and improve my game,” Pettersson said. “It’s relaxed and the Tom Fazio course is a great test of golf.” After playing the course the first time, Pettersson said, “I kind of wish I could play it again tomorrow.”
Pettersson, his wife DeAnna, and children Carlie and Chase, are active members of Hasentree, regularly enjoying the pristine golf course and Family Activity Club.
