Course Greens

Getting the ball in the hole on Hasentree’s greens, armed with a multitude of subtle slopes and numerous falloffs, is as challenging as hitting bunker-lined fairways or approach shots out of the rough.

The heat-resistant bent grass greens, featuring a Sub Air drainage system for agronomical uniformity, nine possible pin placements and Mahogany wood flag sticks, are worthy of the praise they have received from members and their guests.

“The surface is wonderful to putt on,” said Carl Pettersson, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour and Hasentree member. “And I like the areas around the greens. You could really tuck some pins away if you want to.”

Hasentree’s greens average about 6,800-square-feet – average for most golf courses – but like the rest of the Fazio design, variety is evident. For example, the narrow, two-tiered fifth green measures more than 8,500-square-feet and runs the entire width of the fairway, while the 10th hole features an upper and lower green offering golfers countless angles to approach the putting surfaces.

“The greens at Hasentree are as good and as challenging as any we play on the PGA Tour.”
